Former NBA player, Lamar Odom, will be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and wants his ex-wife - star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians - Khloé Kardashian, to support him. Lamar will be appearing alongside 11 other celebrities competing on season 28.
Lamar and Khloé were married back in 2009, then in 2011-2012, the couple had their own show titled Khloé and Lamar, which ran for 2 seasons that followed the married couple throughout their busy schedules and their struggle with infertility. There were also plenty of breakup and cheating rumors. Throughout the next few years, Lamar began to have problems regarding drug addiction, and the pair finally split after four years of marriage; Khloé filed for or divorce in 2013, but after Lamar’s near-fatal drug overdose in a brothel, Khloé withdrew the papers. Then in 2016, the pair were officially divorced.
The 39-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers player recently spoke with Us about being on Dancing with the Stars. However, this isn’t the first time a Keeping Up with the Kardashian star has been on the celebrity dance competition, as Kim Kardashian was a contestant back on season 7. Lamar told reporters that he hopes that his ex-wife, Khloé, will be “one of his supporters” during season 28. Khloé has always been a huge supporter of Lamar, even post-divorce, as she congratulated him on his memoir, From Dark to Light, getting on the New York Times bestseller list.
Lamar has since moved on with a new relationship with a 32-year-old personal trainer - Sabrina Parr. They made their relationship Instagram official last month. Lamar opened up about how Sabrina is his biggest support, saying, “She’ll be with me every step of the way.” He goes on to gush about his new love, saying, “She’s a great partner in life. She gets me.” The former NBA player went on to talk about why he decided to go on the show, saying, “I always love to compete, so it’s a great opportunity to compete.”
Even though the Keeping Up with the Kardashian star is no longer married to Lamar, Khloé’s proven that her love and support will always be there for him. Now that Lamar is no longer struggling with drug addiction and has begun a healthier lifestyle with his new personal trainer girlfriend, the athlete will be in tip-top shape to compete on Dancing with the Stars. Also competing on this season is former Bachelorette Hannah Brown and Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown. Lamar will have some serious competition and will need all of the support he can get.
